The Selangor DAP Wanita would like to wish all women a very Happy International Women's Day.
The theme for the 2019 International Women's Day - Balance for Better, falls in line with our the principles and belief in that gender balance brings about more balanced communities.
Whist recognising that the struggle for women has come a long way, we too recognise that there still a long way to go. - we still do not see, for example, equal numbers of women in decision making powers. There is therefore a need for government, communities and the private sector to engage in a concerted effort to understand the challenges faced by women and address them head on.
Women too need to rise up. We need to keep breaking glass ceilings and keep conquering our fears. It is in this collective spirit that the goal of gender balance can truly be achieved.
