In Semenyih today, the Village Community Management Council (MPKK) of Kampung Rinching Hulu had an event with the Ministry of Rural Development. The program was officiated by its Minister YB Datuk Seri Rina Mohd Harun, taking place at a vicinity close to the mosque of this village. The program called Majlis Kenduri Kampung was also attended by the representative from the Chinese and Indian community.
Among the highlights, Rina and the women attended the demonstration and took part in baking cake with the participant of the cooking class.
At a press conference held after the event, Rina shared her observation from this visit. The Ministry saw the potential in tourism of this village and other villages around Semenyih. There is a lot of tourism products that has good growth potential and can be further developed.
This is aligned with the coming Visit Malaysia year 2020, which will see this year as a preparatory stage for Semenyih residents. Semenyih is blessed with nature beauty. The attractions include eco-tourism, agro-tourism and nature attraction like waterfalls. The location of Semenyih, which is near to Kuala Lumpur International Airport will be an added advantage to lure tourist to this part of the town.
From the Ministry’s viewpoint, for a holistic approach, this added package will be further assisted in terms of infrastructure, socioeconomic and human capital in order to gain a better opportunity for the rural areas. It is also aligned with the Ministry’s Rural Development Harapan blueprint.
For the upcoming election, Rina who is also the Srikandi Bersatu leader shared that they have been on the ground to gather support from the people. The strategy is to create awareness on the policies of the new federal government. With the advancement of technology and the role of social media, she is hoping that all the initiatives by the government to assist the rakyat will be properly disseminate especially for the bottom 40 (B40).
